my lovely fabulous stupendous wonderful boyfriend and i are skipping town for A Whole 2.5 Weeks starting tomorrow afternoon.

i'm a bit nervous about it all. we are doing some fairly standard camping for the first 3 days which includes an 8 mile day hike to the peak of one of the cascade mountains. so gorgeous. i just hope i'm in shape for it. the next 3 days we travel to another lake and canoe from a boat launch an hour out to a very secluded primitive site on the banks of m!ddle saranac lake. no water, no electric, no loo, no nothing kids, just a patch of dirt. just me and my honey and a canoe and no one for miles - a great way to spend the 4th of july. but it means dealing with stuff like water purification and black flies and blah blah blah. but it also means playing cards by campfire light and going midnight swimming.

then we are off to north carolina for a week for some good yummy sand and sun.

anyway, the rest of the month i'm going to be moving in bits and pieces. i don't want to move, and i do want to move. it's not because i don't love my roomies (digression: 'cept when cycleboy leaves notes saying the cats can't have seafood-flavored cat food. wtf? yes they can. they've been eating it for years ya freak. shut up.)

anyhoo i'm not telling you where i'm moving to yet because a) i'm not ready to and b) i'm not jinxing anything.

i will miss my old apartment, but i am very excited to have a doorman and an elevator and live in a building that is named "The Something". i always wanted to live in a building with a name. when i walk out one of the doorman sometimes says "good morning miss stacy" which i find so cute.

ok, i should get to it. i need to go buy a tarp and oatmeal. i'll see you guys when i get back - have a lovely lovely july.
